Learning about Portfolio as an assessment and a way to show learning of core competencies was inspiring. The library visit with Pia Russel. Goals, competencies, and big ideas are the first ways to look at the context of the social studies curriculum. It is significant to incorporate students’ voices while designing units and lessons. The lesson plan workshop helped me learn deeper into the competencies as I learned along with my classmates and exchanged feedback and ideas.
